We are now open to receive submissions for the 2009 Young Designer Awards and we look forward to seeing the wonderful work that you have all been doing towards the Awards….
Please note: This year we CANNOT ACCEPT ORIGINAL WORK for judging.

Submissions for the Awards must be either pdf (Portable Document Format) files or colour photocopies of your submission.

• Should you choose to send us pdf files, please make them A3 size and print quality (large file) rather than email (small file).

• We ask that you include your code number, surname and page number in the file name – eg: FC209Jones1.pdf

- In this example the code is FC209
- Surname is Jones
- Page number is 1 (first page of the submission)
- Hence the filename is FC209Jones1.pdf

The print quality pdf files are quite large so please feel free to mail us a CD or DVD with your submission(s) if your files are too big for you to email.

To make your pdf files you can either scan your paper or card-based originals to pdf or generate the files on your computer. Please choose a larger file size (suitable for print) so that we have good quality files to give to the judges and to display on the big screen at the Awards evening.

Most graphics software allows you to save your work as pdf files, but for those of you who do not have that option available, you may need to use a separate program to convert your files to pdf. The most popular of these is Adobe Acrobat, and it is an excellent piece of software for this task but it is also expensive so we have given web addresses for two pieces of free software that have had good reviews below, and we have also added an address for a YouTube tutorial video about creating pdf files using Open Office software.

If you would like to submit A3 colour photocopies, these should be mailed to our PO Box address (given below). Should you want your photocopies returned, please include a stamped, addressed return A3 envelope with your submission(s).
