PRESENTATION CRITERIA

A minimum of four and a maximum of twelve sheets per submission is required but they must all be appropriate to the development and completion of the design brief. Please note the special requirements of the Landscape Design Category.

Sheets, which may be mounted on card, must be A3 size.
Laminated entries need not be mounted, but must still be A3 size.

All sheets must be sequentially numbered and the number placed immediately under the code number (sent to you after your entry form and fee are received). This is to be placed in a horizontal box measuring 40 mm x 10 mm in the top right hand corner of each sheet submitted.
For example: 129PDCP
                      page6

Please note this requirement is very important so as to ensure no part of an entrant’s submission is misplaced.

Except for sections of the Visual Arts category, coloured photocopies of the original sheets may be submitted rather than the originals.

Submissions must be presented so that the design brief is seen by the judges first.

Drawing and illustration skills are an important component of the submission but computer aided presentation is also encouraged in any section. Students who do not use a computer will not be penalised. The only compulsory computer section is the Multi Media section of Communication Design.

All line work of final drawings must be in ink and well defined. Junior section entrants may use sharp graphite pencil. Elevations may be rendered if preferred.

Any colour medium may be used for the final illustrations.

Any appropriate samples that are part of the submission must be attached to the presentation sheets. Loose samples will not be acceptable.

Photographs of the outcome are encouraged (and necessary for the Fashion Design Category and the Sculpture/Three-Dimensional Studies Section of the Visual Arts category), but should not replace any final illustrations.
